LETTUCE CUPS

INGREDIENTS

  • Lettuce, picked off into cups
  • 500 grams pork or beef mince
  • Oil
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 Tbsp ginger, minced
  • Vermicelli noodles
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 small carrot, finely diced
  • 1 green onion, finely diced (separate green & white sections)
  • 1 Tbsp Corn flour mixed with water

SAUCE

  • 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • Chilli flakes (optional)

GARNISH

  • Toasted sesame seeds (optional)

METHOD

  1. Heat oil in a wok. Sauté onion, ginger and garlic for 30 seconds of stirring
  2. Add the mince and stir until cooked
  3. Add the carrot
  4. Add the sauce
  5. Add the corn starch and water mixture
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and remaining green onions
